Castaway will be a diptych comprising two short forms in a single evening. Poch Sebastian Joanna who lasted 35 minutes and Juliet (end too early) a text Sylvain Levey will take approximately 20 minutes. Both forms can also be played independently of one another.
Talking Castaway ...
A man who dies on the street corner sidewalk. A clueless teenager who throws himself down from a fairground Ferris wheel. Okay, it's not pink. But it is people like that. I mean, people who do not work quite right, even downright off the road. Those that says fringe, lost, and to force that ignores them end up taking a wall or fall into the ditch ...
Okay it's not pink, but it exists, and when I discovered these two texts, Poch and Juliet (end too early) , I was deeply shaken by the stories of these two characters. Time has elapsed ... And I realized that these stories always touched me so much and I needed to stage them because they spoke poetically but terribly sincere face an intolerable reality that as much I feel the most powerless. And as for these days that reality does not seem to improve ...
Continue close collaboration between the authors and a puppeteer and a dialogue between our respective languages.
The longstanding friendship which binds me to Sylvain Levey helped me very early to discover the pleasure of working closely with a playwright. The themes running through his writing touched me and accompany me in my artistic research: family, daily life, almost nothing, the banal, and the heart of all this drama. My training allowed me to meet ESNAM Sebastian Joanne and discover with great emotion his writing. Today I can say that working with authors who have something to say or even to yell to the world is fundamental to my creative process. Staging these texts is therefore for me in the artistic continuity of collusion between authors and a puppeteer with the desire to confront our world and try to engage our respective languages. Develop a personal writing stage by mixing acting, puppets, shadows, images, objects ...
Poch and Juliette (end too early) be my first two staged "for real". It will be an opportunity for me to implement the many learnings I received the ESNAM course, but it is above all an opportunity to try writing shows in my way ... There will probably figurines, pictures, objects, but basically for me whatever. What matters is the stories, and the fact that they are staged and performed by a puppeteer. That is to say with regard to the puppeteer. So I think, not quite right, perhaps even squarely outside of the road.
